Now Open for Winter Submissions
Welcome to Em Dash Literary Magazine!
We’re happy to finally be up and running, and we’re looking forward to our upcoming fall issue.
We are now open for submissions for our Fall issue, and you can find out how to submit by checking out our Submission Guidelines.
For our Fall issue, we’ve imposed a theme that we think complements the launch of the magazine. The theme for the Fall issue will be beginnings. We are also accepting open submissions, but preference will be given to those submissions that use our theme (unless of course you wow us beyond belief).
For the Fall issue, we’ll only be accepting 1 submission per person, excluding poetry and artwork. If you’re submitting poetry and artwork, you can submit 2 pieces. In the future, we may be able to accept more than one submission for writing, but we feel that allowing only one submission (excluding those mentioned) will allow us to focus more of our attention on the submissions we receive.

Ah, just read this again. My piece, which was non-fiction because I noticed you were looking for non-fiction/personal essays, is better classed under the heading “endings”, perhaps. One way or the other, it doesn’t fit into “beginnings”.
Another time, then.
Anyway, it’s really good to see you’re back and I hope to find something you might find interesting in one or other of your upcoming submission periods.
KjM, it doesn’t have to be about beginnings. That’s just a suggestion (and the theme we’re going with all around). Please do submit! Good art and writing is good art and writing.
